Teachers’ perceived challenges in group work assessment

Group work assessment is a challenging and complex practice for teachers. This study focuses on the challenges teachers perceive before after participating in group project that emphasizes individual assessment. By conducting qualitative thematic analysis of twelve interviews with six at upper secondary schools Sweden, several could be identified. The most prominent challenge concerning how to discern students’ performance within groups. has consequences both validity fairness Further, experienced (un)fairness assessment, terms achieving having deal emotions regarding perceived unfairness. results also show inadequate conditions, such as lack time methods, generate their practice, which related reliability.
